Following the #1 chart success of Locnville’s first single ‘Stars Above You’ from the highly anticipated second studio album ‘Running To Midnight’, the Chaplins are at it again with the release of their second single ‘Staring At The World Outside’ featuring the vocals of Canadian/South African blues singer Natasha Meister.
Commenting on the collaboration, Andrew states: “We found out about Natasha through some family friends, pulled up some YouTube videos and really liked her style. She does Blues/Folk music originally, so I thought it would be a cool change up to put her vocals over an electro beat with some heavy vocal effects etc. I think it worked really well, I love the track!”
The music video for ‘Staring At The World Outside’ was shot in streets of Cape Town ‘guerilla’ style with a gritty urban feel to support the experimental sound of the track. The video was directed by Helen Raine of Motion City films and co-directed by Andrew and Brian Chaplin.
